FoxWood Maclean’s Edenbridge Lettings Manager Caroline Sugden has left the rest of us feeling slightly shameful after she completed the Brighton Half Marathon this weekend. Here is the story in her words:
“Last year, in a desperate attempt to get fit, start running again and raise money for charity I signed up to do the Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday 17th February 2013. Unfortunately due to being busy and a bit lazy I didn’t manage to train for it and although I set up a fundraising page I didn’t tell anyone about it as I really didn’t think I would be able to manage the 13 miles!
In a moment of madness on Saturday I thought what the hell I’m going to give it a go, so off I went to sunny Brighton yesterday morning and to my surprise I managed to complete it! I can’t walk today but I did it!
When I originally set out to run, one of my aims was to raise money for the Sussex Beacon. The Sussex Beacon is a care centre in Brighton that helps men and women suffering with Aids and HIV. The work they do and the support they give to individuals and their families is wonderful however believe it or not there is still some stigma around helping charities like this one and as a result they have to work extra hard to raise money to keep the centre going.
I know I am meant to get the sponsorship before the event however, if you can spare anything I would really appreciate it. My fundraising page is as follows: http://www.justgiving.com/CarolineSugden”
What we are all wondering is what she will be doing next!
